Man kills elder brother over family feud

Ranchi:  A tragic incident occurred in Devdaha village under Shikariyapara police station area of Dumka district, where a family dispute escalated to murder. On Thursday, the younger brother, Imamuddin Ansari, fatally stabbed his elder brother, Shama Miyan, during a heated altercation. The suspect has since fled the scene.

According to police reports, Imamuddin was often intoxicated and involved in frequent disputes with his wife and family members. Elder brother Shama Miyan had repeatedly warned him to control his behavior. On the day of the incident, Imamuddin, under the influence of alcohol and engaged in a quarrel with his wife Afreen Bibi, was confronted by Shama Miyan who intervened to calm the situation. In a fit of rage, Imamuddin attacked Shama Miyan with a knife, resulting in his immediate death.

The victim's wife, Afreen Bibi, lodged a complaint at Shikariyapara police station. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and are conducting searches for the accused. Police officials, including Station House Officer Amit Lakra, stated that Imamuddin is absconding but will be arrested soon.

This incident underscores the volatile nature of domestic disputes and highlights the importance of addressing alcohol-related conflicts to prevent such tragedies. Authorities are committed to ensuring justice and maintaining peace in the community.
