Punjab has the highest supply of opium and doda from six districts of Jharkhand

Ranchi:  Most of the drugs (opium and doda) are supplied to Punjab from six districts of Jharkhand. The sources of drugs recovered in the operations being conducted against drugs in Punjab have been found in Ranchi, Chaibasa, Chatra, Palamu, Khunti and Latehar districts of Jharkhand. The Special Director General of Punjab Police has written a letter to Jharkhand Police and informed about this.

After this, Jharkhand Police Headquarters wrote a letter to the SP of the concerned districts and instructed them to take strict action to stop opium-doda production, transportation and smuggling in their respective districts. Maximum 296 hot spots of opium and doda production have been identified in Khunti district.

In Latehar, the maximum number of 106 people involved in the business of opium and doda have been identified and in Jamshedpur, the maximum number of 16 sales centers have been identified. In the last five years, the maximum number of cases have been registered under the NDPS Act in 15 police stations in seven districts of Jharkhand.

These include 118 in Sadar police station of Chatra district, 84 in Kunda police station, 73 in Lavalong police station, 71 in Gumla police station of Gumla district, 62 in Marangdaha police station of Khunti district, 61 in Adityapur police station of Seraikela district, 61 in Vashishthanagar police station of Chatra district, 47 cases are included in Adki of Khunti, 47 in Mango of Jamshedpur, 46 in Sitaramdera, 42 in Murhu of Khunti, 42 in Sukhdevnagar of Ranchi, 41 in Pratappur of Chatra and 36 in Hazaribagh.
