Chatra Police arrested two smugglers with opium worth Rs 10 crore, brown sugar manufacturing factory busted

Chatra:  The police have taken action against drug dealers in Chatra. Police have recovered opium worth about Rs 10 crore 20 lakh. Along with this, two smugglers of inter-district gangs have also been arrested.

The special team of Itkhori police station formed under the leadership of DSP Headquarters Rohit Kumar Rajwar has achieved this success. Apart from this, an illegal brown sugar factory has also been exposed in Mahuda village of Itkhori police station area.

Police have arrested two smugglers named Pankaj Kumar Dangi and Dhirendra Dangi. Both the smugglers used to buy and sell opium, convert it into brown sugar and supply it in the market. The action has been confirmed by Superintendent of Police Vikas Pandey.

According to Sources received from the police, 204.4 kg of opium, brown sugar making machine, one gas cylinder, one gas stove, electronic weighing machine, 100 pieces of plastic, weighing jack machine, 25.400 kg of dirty cloth, soil used for making brown sugar have been recovered.

Officers and soldiers of Itkhori police station including station in-charge Surya Pratap Singh were involved in this raid operation. SP Vikas Pandey has said that the police campaign against opium smugglers and mafia in Chatra will continue. He has appealed to the smugglers to leave the black business of opium smuggling and start other employment. It has been said that smugglers will not be punished under any circumstances.

He said that other white-collared people involved in the gang have been identified and action has been initiated against them. Soon other absconding smugglers will also be arrested and sent to jail.
