Police arrested 6 Ganja smugglers, 53 kg Ganja recovered

Jamshedpur:  Jamshedpur Police had arrested a disabled person with 20 kg of ganja. Here, once again the police have arrested six interstate smugglers with 53 kg of ganja.

The arrested accused include Rajiv Kumar Yadav, resident of Vaishali district of Bihar, Sunil Kumar Baitha, resident of West Champaran, Raj Kumar Bind, resident of Bettiah, Sumit Kumar, Gaurav Kumar and Rajesh Kumar, residents of Patna.

City SP Mukesh Lunayat said that action has been taken on the basis of secret information. Information was received that smugglers were going to reach Mango bus stand from Odisha with ganja. There were preparations to go to Bihar by bus from here. Based on the information, a team was formed under the leadership of Head Quarter DSP-1.

Sitaramdera and Mango police were included in this. The team took immediate action and detained a youth named Rajeev Kumar Yadav from Mango Bus Stand after seeing suspicious activity. About 7 kg of ganja was recovered from him.

During interrogation, Rajiv Kumar Yadav said that his other five companions had just left with illegal ganja in a bus going to Bettiah (Bihar). The said bus was chased by the raiding team and caught at NH 33. Where 46 kg of ganja was recovered from his five other associates. He said that everyone was preparing to take ganja from Orissa to Bihar. He called it a big success.
