Workers clash with police, tear gas shells lathicharge & water canons fired, nearly two dozen injured

Ranchi: For around 90 minutes the area around the Jharkhand Secretariat popularly known as the project building turned out to be a battlefield as workers of the Jharkhand BJP clashed with Ranchi Police while trying to break the barricading. Police resorted to firing of tear gas shells water canons and even mild force to disperse the BJP workers who were adamant to break the barricading and march towards the Secretariat.

In the incident at least 18 party workers while few media persons also sustained injuries in the brawl. Addressing the meeting Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi said that the Hemant government has tried to crush the movement wants to stop the public’s questions in a democracy with sticks and bullets. 

But the BJP’s struggle will continue and government will be uprooted. The struggle will continue till the corrupt government which has cheated the youth, is uprooted. National Vice President and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das, while addressing the meeting, took a dig at the state government and said that Abua Raj’s Babua Chief Minister is running the government for middlemen and syndicates.

He said that whenever JMM, Congress and RJD governments were formed, Jharkhand has been ashamed. He attacked the government on the issue of unemployment, appeasement, casteism, abuse, extremism, infiltration, commission, falling law and order. He said that the state government is completing development works on paper, but development is nowhere to be seen.

Union Minister and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda said that mineral wealth is being looted under the patronage of the state government. He said that the land of the tribals is being looted and the nexus of the mafia and police system is getting the tribals murdered. Women, sisters, youth, unemployed, backward farmers, Dalits, and tribals have become helpless due to misrule by the government.

On one hand, the Modi government at the center is increasing the respect of all the society, while attacks are taking place in Jharkhand. He said that he will not take a rest till the BJP government is formed in Jharkhand. Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of State and Koderma MP Annapurna Devi said that the state government’s attempt to stop the workers from coming to the gherao program shows its defeat. 

She said that the land of Bhagwan Birsa Munda never tolerates injustice. She said that the government cannot be allowed to loot and BJP will work to overthrow this government. She said that Jharkhand was built by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and BJP will also do the work of saving it. The event was also attended by all the MLAs MPs and other senior leaders of the party.
