Jharkhand Congress stages Satyagrah over disqualification of Rahul Gandhi, claims democracy in danger

Ranchi: The leader of the Jharkhand Congress on Sunday staged a Satyagraha before the statue of Bapu at the Morhabadi Grounds of the state capital protesting against the disqualification of their leader Rahul Gandhi as the member of Lok Sabha. 

Speaking on the occasion JPCC president Rajesh Thakur said that to fight a long battle this agitation has been started and said that efforts will be made so that the voice which has been raised by Rahul Gandhi against Adani Group meets the end result. He said that the manner in which action has been taken against Rahul Gandhi indicates that democracy is in danger. He said that efforts are being made to destroy the constitution given to the people by Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Leader of the legislature wing of Congress Aalamgir Aalam said that as part of the conspiracy BJP got the membership of Rahul Gandhi cancelled which will not be tolerated. He said that by the acts of the BJP, it has become evident that BJP has made full preparations to destroy democracy. However, he said that Rahul Gandhi will not be afraid of the acts of the BJP and will continue to work for the welfare of the people. 

Cabinet Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that it is for the first time in the country that within 24 hours membership of an MP has been cancelled which is not a good sign for democracy. He said that the BJP has got scared after Rahul Gandhi highlighted the wrongdoings of the Adani and how funds of the SBI and LIC have been misused for a corporate house.

Health Minister Banna Gupta said no doubt efforts are being made to destroy the democratic values which will not be tolerated by the people of the country. He said that the BJP got scared due to the manner in which Rahul Gandhi had raised the issues outside the parliament and inside.

He said that the Congress party has a history of removing the British from India therefore it is not going to be scary. The event was also addressed by former Union Minister Subodhkant Sahai MLA Dipika Pandey Singh, former MLA Bandhu Tirkey and others.
