Detailed review of progress of High Impact Mega Water Shed project held

Ranchi: A detailed review of the progress of the High Impact Mega Water Shed Project under BRLF was conducted on Friday under the chairmanship of Mnrega Commissioner Rajeshwari B. The meeting was attended by district and block officials under BRLF and representatives of WOTR, Vikas Bharti, Pradan, Vasan, Jan Jagran Kendra, Kalamandir, NEED, TSRD, SPWD, Rural Development Trust, ASA respectively.

The progress report was reviewed by all the institutions in the meeting. Kalamandir, WOTR and excellent initiatives provided by Mnrega commissioner like water budget, cultivation of medicinal plants like Moringa, Tulsi, etc were appreciated. Along with this instructions were given to assess the impact of the works being done under BRLF.

Apart from this various Sustainable Development Goals were also asked to be included as well as a plantation of other fruit plants like litchi, lemon, guava etc. The advice was given by the Mnrega commissioner. It was also asked to pursue the cultivation of mushrooms, Maduva for livelihood.

High Mega Watershed Project has been started in 24 blocks of seven districts of Jharkhand. The objective of the scheme is to increase the moisture and quality of the land through better water management so that the work of agriculture and horticulture can be expanded and the goal of doubling the income of the farmers can be achieved.
