Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren met President-Elect Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Sunday. During the meeting, he congratulated her on being elected the next President. She appreciated the work done by him in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister urged Ms Murmu to keep her affection on Jharkhand as before.
Soren had gone to Delhi on Saturday in connection with the launch of the state’s tourism policy. After the NDA nominated of Draupadi Murmu as its candidate the ruling JMM had made a meeting in which JMM central president Shibu Soren was authorized to take the decision.
After announcing support 30 JMM MLAs and three MPs voted in support of Ms Murmu. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has had a good relationship with Draupadi Murmu in the past. Draupadi Murmu was the governor of Jharkhand for about six years.
During this, he met her on many issues. Ms Murmu will take the oath of office on Monday. She has a special attachment to Jharkhand. The Chief Minister will also attend her oath-taking ceremony
