ED files 5000 pages chargesheet against suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal

Ranchi: The ED filed a charge sheet in the special PMLA court on Tuesday against suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal.

This charge sheet is about five thousand pages and reached the court in two boxes. The agency has filed the charge sheet against Pooja Singhal in a money laundering case.

If official sources are to be believed the details of the interrogation of mining officials of different districts have been mentioned in the charge sheet. It also details how the alleged web of illegal recovery was spread from the districts and how the money collected reached the officials sitting in Ranchi.

In the first week of May, the ED had conducted simultaneous raids at 25 locations of the then Mining Secretary Pooja Singhal and her close associates. Cash worth more than Rs 19 crores was recovered from the house of CA Suman Kumar, a close aide of her husband, during the same raid. After this, Pooja Singhal was arrested on May 11 in a money laundering case.

The ED questioned her by taking her on remand for 14 days. During that time, the mining officials of different districts of the state were also called and questioned by the ED’s zonal office in Ranchi.
