Two girls gang raped in Ranchi, five culprits arrested

Ranchi: Two girls were gang-raped in the capital following which acting promptly police managed to arrest five out of the six culprits who had executed the crime. Police on Friday said that a girl hailing from the Tupudana area had come to visit her relative who lived under the Dhurwa Police Station area on Thursday.

The relative asked a neighbor to drop the girl home as darkness fell. Instead of dropping her home, the culprit took her to an isolated spot where he raped her and later he called his five other friends who also raped the girl.

The culprits forced the girl to call one of her friends to the spot as then only she would be released from the spot. After her friend arrived she too was gang-raped by the six culprits. They later went away from the spot after threatening both the girls with dire consequences. The girls later in the night somehow reached the police station and narrated the incident.

Acting promptly on the complaint police started conducting raids and by day break on Friday managed to arrest five culprits while a search was on for another one. Both the victims have been sent for medical to Sadar Hospital. Further probe is on.
