Guv asks MLAs to remain sensitive and serious over needs and problems of people

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais on Monday asked the legislators to remain serious and sensitive over the problems of the people. Speaking at the 21st-anniversary celebrations of the Jharkhand Vidhansabha he said that people have high expectations from the working of the Vidhansabha. He said that while on the one hand, the day was about reflecting upon the achievements of the Vidhansabha on the other hand it was an opportunity to think and deliberate over the flaws and working culture so that work can be done in a better manner and policies and programmes can be framed as per the needs of the people.

The Governor said that there is also a need to pay attention towards having high quality debate inside the house with seriousness as people not only carefully listen to the issues raised by the MLAs of their area but is also eager to know as to what the government has plans to do over the matter and therefore the MLAs should raise their questions in a proper manner so that they can get an appropriate answer from the government. The Governor said that Assembly is the biggest temple of democracy therefore its sanctity should be maintained at any cost. He said that it should be made sure that its honour is not impacted by the acts of the legislators.

Speaking on the occasion Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto said the occasion was an apt opportunity to pay tributes towards those who had thought of having a separate state of Jharkhand and those who gave their sweat and blood during the separate statehood movement. He said that the separate statehood movement for Jharkhand was a big and peaceful movement that continued for a very long time. The Governor said that the state government is working for all-around development of Jharkhand and is working to realise the goals for which it has been created.
