Chatra Sansad concludes in Assembly: Jharkhand Tree Conservation Bill 2021 passed

Ranchi: The two-day Chatra Sansad organised in the Jharkhand Assembly concluded on Sunday.

The concept of the event was visualized by Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto who made sure that the top 24 students with each representing their respective districts is able to participate in the programme. This Chatra Sansad was given the form of real Assembly and the participants were duly made to participate in question hour and how a bill is passed inside the house and they were also informed about other parliamentary norms.

The core of the Chatra Sansad was kept as Youth for Green Jharkhand so that it can reflect the greenery, Jal, Jungle and Zameen of Jharkhand. In the first Chatra Sansad, Jharkhand Tree Conservation Bill 2021 was passed. The bill talks about the formation of tree authority in every district which will look into the proposals given by government department and private organisations for setting up of plants, factories, roads, irrigation power involving cutting of trees and plantation to be taken later.

Further to undertake plantation drive in any area the people will have to take permission from a concerned official of the tree authority and any application received in this regard will have to be disposed off in 60 days.

Any person who would be granted permission to cut a tree will have to plant a new one. During the event, the students also actively participated in the debate organized over the bill.

Among the students who participated in the programme 50 percent of them were women. In the competition Daisy Lakra from Lohardaga was declared first, Sabhyata Bhushan from Giridih was second while Shweta Singh from Deoghar was declared third.
