Killing of Judge: HC raps CBI once again over progress in probe

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Friday once again raped the Central Bureau Investigation over the progress made so far in connection with the killing of the Additional district and sessions judge of Dhanbad Uttam Anand.

Hearing the case the bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad said that at present also the position is the same as it was on the first day as apart from the two accused CBI has nothing with it shows.

Commenting on the matter the court said that if such will be the fate of this big case then it will be unfortunate for the system and the country as the CBI has already said that the judge was killed deliberately.

The court said that the CBI probe so far indicates that the investigation has not been done in a professional manner. The court said that without its permission charge sheet was filed but till date, the CBI has not been able to find out who was behind the conspiracy and what was the reason behind the killing.

The court also expressed its anguish over the fact that without highlighting the motive the charge sheet had been filed and whether in the lower court the CBI will be able to prove it as a murder. The court commented that the case was moving towards accident and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Additional Solicitor General Rajeev Kumar assured the court that a proper investigation will be done in the case and urged to grant some more time and even assured that in the next hearing some concrete information will be provided to the court after the court fixed November 12 as the next date of hearing.
