Pension for divyang, old age & widows to be increased to Rs 1000 in 2019-20 says CM

Jamtara: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced that the state government would increase the pension paid to the  divyang, old age and widows in the state from the present Rs 600 to Rs 1,000 per month as a provision in this regard would be made
in the annual budget of the state for the year 2019-20. Addressing a Jan Chaupal organised at Nutandih village under Nala panchayat of this district he said that the 3.25 crore people of the state should not live a life in difficulty and changes should also be brought
in their lives. He said that with the support of the people and the policies of the state government Jharkhand would be taken out from poverty.

Mr Das said that the middlemen were like cancer which needed to be removed so that the people can take advantage
of the government schemes for which there was a need to remain aware and make joint efforts. He said that despite 14 years of state creation due to political instability the dreams of the people remained unfulfilled however after the people voted for a majority
government in 2014 Jharkhand was moving ahead on the path of progress and has made a name for itself as a rapidly improving state and pointed that growth rate in agriculture which was minus 4.5 percent has turned into positive 14 percent. 

Mr Das said that realizing the potential of the farmers they were sent to Israel so that they could learn the modern methods of agriculture and similarly in the next batch 50 men and 50 women farmers would be sent to Israel and Philippines for training. 

He said that for the interest of the small farmers provisions would be made in the budget and they would be provided agriculture equipments on subsidized rates. He also asked the youth to come forward in the areas of dairy and poultry. He said  hat the state   vernment  was worried over the health of the people and spent Rs 400 crore to bring 57 lakh families under the over of Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the state and people can get themselves treated under the scheme through their ration cards also. Mr Das said that he would be travelling to UAE on December 15 as there was huge demand for the trained youth and also they needed to be protected so that they do not fall in the trap of the middlemen. The Chief  Minister once again used the occasion to ask the  people to protect their culture as some vested interests were trying to destroy it. He said that the state government has  brought the religious
conversion bill to prevent forceful religious conversions and was also providing pension to the religious heads who are working to protect the tribal culture of the state. Mr Das also appreciated the work which has been put by the women sakhi mandals, jal sahiyas and  woman masons which helped in making the state 99 per cent ODF. The Chief Minister asked the people not to make any
differences between sons and daughters and educate their girl child. He said that the state government would be starting the
Sukanya Yojana from January 1, 2019 in which the state government would be providing incentive post the birth of the daughter in the  family. During the function he also announced Rs 25,000 for inter topper Priya. He said the state government was working to provide
clean drinking water to the people and said that he did not believed in making fake promises to the people and said that the state
government wanted to get rid of marrying of girls atthe tender age. During the function the Chief Minister also distributed deeds and assets among the beneficiaries of the various schemes including those related to Chief Minister’s marriage  scheme, Ayushman Bharat etc. Those present on the occasion also included DC Jamtara Aditya Kumar  Anand, DIG Santhal Pargana Rajkumar Lakra
