CM to participate in 'Mukhyamantri Swach Vidyalay ' award distribution programme

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be the chief guest at the Mukhyamantri Swach Vidyalay Award distribution programme in which state-level toppers of matric and intermediate exams would be also felicitated.

The Chief Minister during the function will felicitate 119 schools who have performed better in the cleanliness competition while first three rank holders in 10th and 12th board exams of JAC, CBSE and ICSE will also be felicitated on the occasion.

The cleanliness competition a total of 44,441 students from urban and rural areas had participated via online mode. These schools were graded on five parameters including drinking water arrangements, toilets, handwash, operation and maintenance and behavioural change and capacity building. On the basis of these five parameters, the schools were also divided into star ratings. The schools which scored between 90-100 percent were given five-star rating while schools scoring between 75 to 89 percent got four star rating.

In this competition overall 928 schools got 5 star rating, 5668 schools got 4 star rating, 27,951 schools received 3 star ratings, 6,917 schools received 2 star ratings and 2,977 schools got one-star rating.

The schools which had got 5 stars rating their third party evaluation was done by BIT Mesra out of which the grading of 740 schools was found to be correct and out of these 119 have been selected for awards in different categories.

The toppers in the matric exam would get Rs 1 lakh while the second topper will get Rs 75,000 and the third topper Rs 50,000. Similarly the toppers in Arts, Science and Commerce will get Rs 3 lakh while second and third rank holders will get Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively. Over 59 toppers will be given the awards during the function.
