Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government has decided to bring a proposal during the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Vidhan Sabha demanding the Sarna religious code.
Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon after the end of proceedings for the day said that on Tuesday the government will bring a proposal regarding separate Sarna religious code for the tribals.
He said that he has spoken with the Chief Minister over the matter. To a query, he said there was no need for getting into any major legislative procedure to bring the proposal.
The Minister said that there was no need to do much but just a one-line proposal would be brought in the house in which the Centre would be requested to include the Sarna religious code in the Census. He said that the government would say that it demands the centre to implement the Sarna religious code.
