Kriti Sanon Says She Was Looking for a Fun, Messy Coming-of-Age Film Like Cocktail 2

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon says Cocktail 2 came to her at the right time, as she had been eager to work on a light-hearted, youthful film featuring relatable and imperfect characters.

Speaking at the launch of the film's latest song, Kriti shared what drew her to the project and her character, Ally.

"When I heard the story of Cocktail 2, I found it so different, relevant and entertaining. All three characters are beautifully written, each with their own journey, and they felt fresh. I think I was missing a film like this. After seeing so many intense dramas and action films, I wanted to be part of a fresh, young story with messy characters, just like people are in real life," she said.

Talking about Ally, Kriti revealed that the role challenged her because it was completely different from her own personality.

"Ally is so unlike me. She's carefree, liberated, unpredictable and completely unfiltered. That made her incredibly exciting to play, and I'm really happy I got the opportunity to bring her to life," she added.

Kriti has already generated buzz with her striking bohemian-inspired look in the film, reflecting Ally's free-spirited personality through relaxed, vibrant outfits.

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 also stars Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles. The film is set to hit theatres on June 19.
