Shubhangi Atre Talks About Bringing Angoori Bhabhi to Life on the Big Screen

Mumbai: Actress Shubhangi Atre has shared insights into how she approached her beloved character Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Fun On The Run, saying the film adds a fresh layer while staying true to the original essence.

Based on the popular television show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, the film brings the familiar characters into a new narrative setting. Despite the shift from television to film, Atre revealed that her core approach to the character remained unchanged.

She explained that there was no need to alter Angoori Bhabhi’s personality, as audiences have loved her portrayal consistently for nearly a decade. However, she acknowledged that the film’s storyline offers new situations, allowing each character to explore slightly different dimensions.

Highlighting what makes Angoori unique, Atre said her simplicity and charm—her defining traits—had to be preserved. She emphasised that maintaining this authenticity is key, especially for a character that has received such enduring audience affection over the years.

The actress also pointed out that the film gives viewers a chance to enjoy the same characters on a larger scale, with a fresh storyline, scenic locations, and an engaging ensemble cast.
