Mumbai — Bollywood actress Sharvari has praised filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for his unique storytelling and especially for the way he portrays women in his films, calling them the very essence of the narrative.
Sharvari, who is gearing up for her upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, said working with Imtiaz Ali is a deeply personal and transformative experience. She described being his leading lady as a “dream come true,” especially considering the legacy of actors like Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Anushka Sharma, who have collaborated with the director in the past.
Reflecting on his work, she said Imtiaz Ali’s female characters are never just supporting elements but the heart of the story itself. She pointed to iconic roles like Geet Dhillon from Jab We Met, Tara Maheshwari from Tamasha, and Veera Tripathi from Highway, highlighting their emotional depth, resilience, and authenticity.
Sharvari shared that portraying such characters requires vulnerability and honesty, often pushing actors beyond their comfort zones. According to her, the process is not just about performance but about personal growth—learning to embrace silence, contradictions, and raw emotions.
She added that being part of Imtiaz Ali’s cinematic world has helped her evolve both as an actor and as a person, shaping her perspective on storytelling and the kind of roles she wants to pursue in the future.
Main Vaapas Aaunga is slated for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
