Mumbai — Actress and former beauty queen Manushi Chhillar marked her parents’ 35th wedding anniversary on Monday with heartfelt posts on social media.
Sharing a series of warm family photographs, she celebrated their enduring bond. In one post, she wrote, “Happy Anniversary to my favs. Here’s to 35 years of endless love,” tagging her parents. The accompanying image showed Manushi posing with them at a dinner gathering, all smiling at the camera.
In another post, captioned “Dream team,” she shared a photograph of her parents standing outdoors near an aircraft, gazing at each other affectionately.
She also added, “Here’s to many more years of being a part of your happy world,” alongside a third picture of her parents dressed in formal attire at a celebratory event.
Manushi rose to global prominence after winning the Miss World 2017 crown, bringing the title back to India after 17 years. Before that, she was crowned Femina Miss India World 2017.
A trained medical graduate, she later transitioned into films. She made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj, portraying Princess Sanyogita. She subsequently appeared in The Great Indian Family alongside Vicky Kaushal.
A few months ago, she featured in singer Diljit Dosanjh’s track Kufar from his album Aura. While the song received appreciation, a particular shot in the video sparked backlash on social media.
Some users objected to a scene showing a woman’s leg, which coincided with the lyrics “jannat ke darwaaze,” calling it suggestive. Addressing the controversy on X (formerly Twitter), Manushi clarified, “Not mine #iykyk,” while urging people not to disrespect the dancer featured in the video.
“But can we please not disrespect the dancer who was simply doing her job,” she added.
