‘Space Gen: Chandrayaan’ Trailer Captures a Defining Chapter of India’s Space Triumph

Mumbai - Jio Hotstar has unveiled the trailer of *Space Gen: Chandrayaan*, a compelling and deeply human drama inspired by real events that chronicles the untold story behind one of India’s greatest scientific comebacks—an achievement that redefined the country’s place in global space history.

The trailer immerses viewers in moments of intense anxiety and exhilaration, offering a powerful adrenaline rush as it revisits the tense period following a critical setback. It also spotlights the widely discussed moment when the newly appointed ISRO chief took the bold call to repose faith in the same team, marking the beginning of a journey toward redemption.

Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF) and directed by Anant Singh, *Space Gen: Chandrayaan* is a nuanced, character-driven series that moves beyond spectacle to focus on the people behind the mission—their passion, personal sacrifices, and unshakable belief in starting again.

The series features Nakuul Mehta, Shriya Saran, Danish Sait, Prakash Belawadi, and Gopal Datt in pivotal roles.

A Jio Hotstar spokesperson said the series reflects the platform’s commitment to telling stories that are distinctly Indian, ambitious in scale, and deeply rooted in human emotion. “Through premium, creator-led narratives, we aim to bring defining moments from India’s journey to audiences. Our collaboration with TVF allows us to present this landmark story with authenticity and emotional depth, reinforcing Jio Hotstar’s vision of celebrating India’s progress, resilience, and belief in moving forward,” the spokesperson added.

Arunabh Kumar, Founder of TVF and Showrunner and Creator of *Space Gen: Chandrayaan*, said the series is a tribute to ordinary individuals who achieved the extraordinary by refusing to give up. “This story honours those who helped India earn its place at the global space table. Partnering with Jio Hotstar on a project of such national significance has been incredibly special, and it enabled us to create India’s first OTT series in the space genre with large-scale space visuals,” he said.

Lead actor Nakuul Mehta said the series transformed his understanding of success and failure. “This isn’t about the moment when the signal drops, but about what happens the next morning—when you return, take responsibility, and begin again. Playing a character burdened by failure yet driven by the courage to fix it was deeply grounding for me, both as an actor and as a human being,” he said.

Shriya Saran described her role as one that demanded quiet strength and emotional restraint. “Being part of a high-stakes mission made me reflect on the unseen emotional cost of ambition. *Space Gen: Chandrayaan* is not just about reaching the moon; it’s about the people who carry that dream every day. It celebrates collective resilience and the power of unity,” she said.

Prakash Belawadi noted that the series stood out for its honesty. “It neither glorifies success nor avoids failure. It portrays leadership, accountability, and belief when doubt is at its peak. These are stories rarely told, and this series presents them with sincerity and restraint,” he said.

*Space Gen: Chandrayaan* will begin streaming exclusively on Jio Hotstar from January 23, 2026.
