Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has drawn attention to the often-overlooked contributors of filmmaking, applauding the technicians behind the blockbuster Dhurandhar and calling the film a landmark moment for Indian cinema.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories, Shraddha emphasized that in the finest films, the work of technicians often goes unnoticed, even though their collective effort gives a film its soul.
“In the greatest films, the work of technicians is invisible. #Dhurandhar is a big moment for Indian cinema. Let’s make the technicians of this marvel visible and applaud them. When every actor is so perfect, it starts with a perfectly chosen cast,” she wrote, while acknowledging casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
Reflecting further on the film’s impact, Shraddha noted that authenticity, power, and raw energy never happen by accident. She credited several members of the creative and technical teams, stating that when a film feels intense and resonant, it is the result of master craftsmen working behind the scenes, particularly in writing, direction, and sound design.
She also praised the producers and creative leadership, adding that they formed the foundation on which the film’s success was built.
Earlier, Shraddha had shared a light-hearted yet enthusiastic note about the film, jokingly calling it “truly terrible” of filmmaker Aditya Dhar to make audiences wait for Part 2.
“Truly terrible of Aditya Dhar to make a film like Dhurandhar and then make us wait three months for Part 2. Don’t play with our emotions—please prepone the release. What a phenomenal experience,” she wrote, adding that she would have watched it again immediately if not for an early morning shoot.
She also addressed the “rampant negative PR” the film faced, noting that despite manufactured controversies, Dhurandhar emerged stronger.
“From Yami Gautam calling out negative PR to all the controversies, Dhurandhar endured it all and came out shining. No bad force can pull a good film down. In audiences, we trust,” she said.
The film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera, and Naveen Kaushik.
The first installment of a two-part series, Dhurandhar traces an Indian intelligence mission spanning a decade, as an undercover agent infiltrates Karachi’s criminal and political underworld to dismantle cross-border terror networks. The narrative draws inspiration from real-life geopolitical events, including the 1999 Indian plane hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, covert R&AW operations linked to Operation Lyari, and the crackdown on organized crime.
