World Television Day: Amandeep Sidhu Reflects on TV’s Deep Influence on Her Life

On World Television Day, actress Amandeep Sidhu opened up about the powerful role television has played in shaping not just her career but also her personal growth and connection with audiences.

In an interview with IANS, the Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan actress shared that television has given her more than professional success — it has given her a voice, a purpose, and the ability to touch people’s lives through stories and emotions.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be on television, and honestly, it feels like I’m living my dream,” Amandeep said. “Acting has always been my passion, and bringing characters to life every day is deeply fulfilling. Each project has taught me something new about life, resilience, and myself.”

The Naagin 6 actress highlighted how television’s daily format creates a unique bond with viewers. “The best part of being on TV is the routine and the connection with the audience. In a daily soap, we grow with the character over time. Hearing from viewers who resonate with our stories — that bond is truly special.”

She added that the television industry has evolved significantly, embracing richer storytelling and more diverse characters.

Currently playing the lead in Zee TV’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, produced by Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta, Amandeep said the show has helped her reconnect with deeper values. “This show reminded me of the essence of family — the rituals, sacrifices, traditions. It’s not just drama; it’s the fabric of our lives.”

Amandeep started her journey as a model before making her television debut with a parallel lead role in Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai. She went on to portray the antagonist Kanchan Khanna in Tantra, and later achieved her major breakthrough as the lead in Zee TV’s Teri Meri Ikk Jindri opposite Adhvik Mahajan.
