Rashmika Mandanna Says She’d Love to Star in a Korean Drama — If the Role Feels Right

Mumbai — Actress Rashmika Mandanna, known for her versatility and charm across Indian cinema, has expressed a keen interest in working in a Korean drama, a genre she has long admired as a fan.

When asked if she would consider taking up a K-drama project given her love for exploring diverse roles, Rashmika told IANS,

“Oh, of course, I would want to do a Korean drama. That would be fun! But it depends on what they offer me — you know how picky I am about what I do on screen.”

The actress, who is currently riding high on the success of her latest horror-comedy film Thamma, shared that her fascination with Korean dramas began during the Covid-19 lockdown.

“My love for Korean dramas started during Covid, I think. There was so much time, and every K-drama has around 16 episodes — that’s 16 hours of watching! I don’t have a specific memory of when it began, but that’s when I got hooked,” she recalled.

Rashmika’s film Thamma, set in a fictional universe, features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ayushmann Khurrana in pivotal roles. It also includes a crossover with Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya and connects to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which ties together Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.

The story follows a journalist (played by Ayushmann) who becomes entangled in a power struggle between vampires, portrayed by Rashmika and Nawazuddin.

Beyond Thamma, Rashmika’s most recent release is the Telugu romantic drama The Girlfriend, co-starring Dheekshith Shetty and directed by Rahul Ravindran. The film hit theatres on November 7, 2025, and was released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Up next, Rashmika will be seen in “Cocktail 2” and “Mysaa”, further expanding her diverse filmography.
