Mahindra posts 37% jump in June vehicle sales, exports more than double


New Delhi- Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on Wednesday reported a 37 per cent year-on-year increase in its overall automobile sales for June 2026, with total dispatches, including exports, reaching 1,06,207 units.

The company recorded domestic utility vehicle (SUV) sales of 60,393 units during the month, up 28 per cent from a year earlier. Total utility vehicle sales, including exports, stood at 61,504 units.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, said the company achieved strong growth across its key segments, with SUV sales rising 28 per cent and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) below 3.5 tonnes increasing 35 per cent to 26,076 units in June.

Mahindra's exports also witnessed a sharp rise, more than doubling to 5,918 vehicles, a 125 per cent increase over the same month last year.

The company's overall light commercial vehicle sales reached 39,896 units. Among the sub-segments, LCVs under 2 tonnes recorded sales of 3,508 units, up 36 per cent, while the 2–3.5 tonne category grew 35 per cent to 22,568 units.

Sales of three-wheelers also registered robust growth, climbing 63 per cent to 13,820 units compared to 8,454 units in June last year.

In the farm equipment business, Mahindra reported domestic tractor sales of 58,177 units in June, reflecting a 12 per cent year-on-year increase. Total tractor sales, including exports, stood at 59,935 units, up from 53,392 units in the corresponding period last year. Tractor exports for the month were 1,758 units.

Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra's Farm Equipment Business, said that while it is still too early to fully assess the impact of emerging El Niño conditions, continued government support through fertiliser subsidies and targeted assistance is expected to reduce risks for farmers and help cushion the impact on the upcoming Kharif season.
