Maruti Suzuki India Records Highest-Ever Exports of 3.95 Lakh Vehicles in 2025

New Delhi — Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Thursday announced that it exported a record 3.95 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025, marking the highest-ever annual exports in the company’s history.

The figure represents a growth of more than 21 per cent compared to 2024, reaffirming the company’s position as the country’s largest automobile manufacturer.

Calling it a significant milestone, Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said the achievement reflects India’s growing manufacturing capabilities and the confidence of global customers in Indian-made vehicles.

“This is a proud moment for the company as we record our highest-ever calendar year exports of 3.95 lakh units. It reflects India’s manufacturing strength and the trust of customers worldwide,” Takeuchi said in a statement.

He added that at a time when global trade is facing turbulence, the company views this 21 per cent growth as a responsible contribution towards sustaining India’s export momentum.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the milestone is expected to cement its position as India’s number one passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year.

During 2025, the company exported 18 models to more than 100 countries. The year also marked the beginning of exports of Suzuki’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA.

Following the flag-off of the e VITARA by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in August, more than 13,000 units have already been exported to 29 countries, mainly across Europe, the company said.

Earlier, in November, Maruti Suzuki had announced that it crossed the landmark of 3 crore cumulative car sales in the domestic market. The automaker said it took 28 years and two months to achieve its first one crore sales, while the second crore was reached in just 7 years and 5 months.

The third crore milestone was achieved even faster — in a record 6 years and 4 months — underscoring the brand’s rising popularity among Indian consumers. Of the three crore vehicles sold in India, the Maruti Alto remains the company’s best-selling model, with over 47 lakh units sold.
