JetSetGo to start urban air transport service next week

Private aviation company JetSetGo, which operates one of India's largest fleets of private jets and helicopters, is set to launch its “SkyShuttle” on-demand urban air transport service from September 17.

The company announced on Saturday that the new service will offer both inter-city and intra-city air connectivity, using smaller private jets and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

The initial rollout will focus on the Mumbai-Bengaluru route, providing an alternative air travel option for passengers looking for faster point-to-point connectivity between the two major cities.

Alongside the inter-city service, JetSetGo plans to operate helicopter shuttles within the Mumbai region, connecting the city with Tarapur and Vapi.

The company said fares for its jet service would range from Rs 21,950 to Rs 54,875, depending on the route and service, while helicopter shuttle fares would range from Rs 21,000 to Rs 29,250.

The SkyShuttle initiative is aimed at tapping the growing demand for time-efficient premium transportation, particularly for travellers seeking to avoid lengthy road journeys and reduce travel time between key business and industrial centres.

By combining smaller aircraft with helicopter connectivity, the company plans to develop a more flexible urban and regional air transport model, potentially opening up faster connections between locations that are not efficiently linked by conventional air services.

The launch will also provide an early test of the demand for on-demand aviation services in India's expanding premium mobility market, with the company expected to assess passenger response before potentially expanding the network to additional routes.
