Iran’s Foreign Minister Signals Willingness to Boost Economic and Trade Ties with Neighbouring Countries

Tehran- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has announced that the Foreign Ministry is ready to strengthen Iran’s economic and trade relations, particularly with neighbouring countries, local media reported on Thursday.

In a meeting with a group of lawmakers, Araghchi shared the ministry’s views on regional and international developments and outlined the initiatives taken to protect Iran’s national interests, according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

He emphasised the need for close cooperation between Parliament and the Foreign Ministry to enhance the effectiveness of Iran’s diplomatic efforts.

Earlier this week, Araghchi underlined the ministry’s ongoing work to safeguard the country’s rights and interests, calling national unity a key factor in countering hostile actions, as reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Reviewing Iran’s foreign policy developments over the past year, he described Iran’s defence against attacks from Israel and the US as a significant moment in the country’s history. He stressed that unity and cohesion among the Iranian people are essential in confronting external threats.

Araghchi praised the resolve of the Iranian people in defending the nation and resisting foreign pressure. He credited Iran’s “historic victory” to the leadership of the Supreme Leader, the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, and the solidarity of the Iranian population.

He also highlighted the importance of strengthening Iran’s national power in areas such as defence, social capital, and national cohesion. Araghchi noted that the government is actively working to address the country’s economic challenges.
