70th quarterly meeting of SLBC held, officals call for more loans to farmers & MSMEs

Ranchi: The 70th quarterly meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) was held here on Thursday which was attended by senior government officials and heads of the different banks and financial institutions working in the state.

Principal Secretary of the Rural Development Department Avinash Kumar said that SHGs play an important role to strengthen the economy and in Jharkhand, 2.98 lakh self-help groups were functional who should be provided loans by the banks and suggested that if good farmers and SHGs will be encouraged than it will give better results.

He asked the bankers to link the farmers with KCC and said that such farmers who are not getting the benefit of the scheme should be included in Ait and suggested that the bank managers should hold meetings with the people in their areas in which beneficiaries should be called made to interact with the people.

On the other Secretary of the Planning and Finance Department, Sunil Kumar said that there are numerous schemes going on for development in the state and the banks should play their important role to ensure that benefits reach the people.

He asked the bankers to give loans to farmers and MSMEs who need financial assistance the most. Earlier GM of SLBC Ravindra Kumar Das welcomed the participants.

He said that growth has been registered in the areas of deposits, agriculture, MSME sector while there was a need to link the farmers with KCC and Pradhan Mantri Krish Samman Nidhi Yojana for which special drive needed to be carried out.
