Matric and Intermediate Exams to commence from Tuesday, 6.21 lakh students to participate

Ranchi: The matriculation and intermediate exams of the Jharkhand Academic Council will commence from Tuesday in the state in which a total of 6,21,384 students will be appearing across 1310 examination centers which have been created in the state.

The number of students appearing in matric exams was 3,87,021 who will be appearing at 940 examination centers while for 2,34,363 students in intermediate a total of 470 centers have been set up. Streamwise the maximum students were in Arts with 1,29,263 followed by 76,585 in Science and 28,515 in Commerce.

When compared to the previous year this year the number of students has declined by 1,35,725 as last year a total of 7,57,109 candidates had appeared in the exam. JAC Chairman Dr Arvind Prasad Singh said that all preparations have been completed for the exams and CCTVs have been put up at all the examination centers while like the previous year the students will get additional 15 minutes to read the question paper.

District wise Ranchi has the maximum number of students in Matric and Intermediate with numbers being 34,080 and 32,960 respectively while Pakur has the lowest number of students with only 5690 appearing in matric and another 2651 in Intermediate. In the previous year, Khunti had the lowest number of matric students at 6414 while Simdega had the least in inter at 3939.
