Suspense looms large over appointment of legislature wing leader of BJP

Ranchi: Despite all the 25 newly-elected MLAs of the BJP scheduled to gather in the state capital on Sunday a decision over the leader of the legislature wing of the party is unlikely to be taken.

If a leader is not declared by Sunday night it means that BJP will be in the assembly without any official leader of the legislature wing of the party.

The party is yet to decide as to whether it wants a tribal or non-tribal to lead the party in the house. Among the tribals, the name of Khunti MLA Neelkanth Singh Munda was on the top while among the non-tribals Ranchi MLA CP Singh was a front runner.

Munda has won from the Khunti seat for the fifth time while CP Singh has won from the prestigious Ranchi seat for the sixth consecutive term.

To a query posed before state general secretary Deepak Prakash during a press conference at the party headquarters, he said that there was no confusion in the party and a correct decision at the correct time will be taken.

He said that the subject of the meeting scheduled on Sunday is different and in this, the leader of the legislature wing of the party is not going to be elected.
