74 FIRs for violation of MCC registered so far in Jharkhand polls

Ranchi: After the model code of conduct came into effect post the declaration of Vidhan Sabha elections in the state on November 1 so far 74 FIRs for violation of model code of conduct have been registered.

Addressing a press conference here Chief Electoral Officer Vinay Kumar Chaubey said that till November 25, 66 firs for violation of model code of conduct was registered which increased to 74 till November 28.

He said that a maximum of 12 FIRs each have been registered in East Singhbhum and Palamu districts, 5 in Dhanbad, 11 in Garhwa, 7 in Giridih, 2 in Ranchi, 5 in Bokaro, 1 in Saraikela, 1 in Jamtara, 1 in Simdega, 2 in Lohardaga, 1 in Pakur and 1 each in Gumla and Koderma, two each in Sahibganj and Godda and 7 in Ramgarh.

He said that on the C vigil app complaints related to violation of model code of conduct is also being received and so far 1435 complaints have been received.

Mr Choubey said that district wise 56 complaints have been registered in Bokaro, 45 in Chatra , 25 in Deoghar, 138 in Dhanbad, 74 in Dumka, 90 in East Singhbhum, 88 in Garhwa, 39 in Giridih, 29 in Godda, 41 in Hazaribag, 41 in Gumla, 12 in Jamtara, 48 in Khunti, 109 in Koderma, 25 in Latehar, 21 in Lohardaga, 43 in Pakur, 47 in Palamu, 18 in Ramgarh, 384 in Ranchi, 9 in Sahibganj, 15 in Saraikela, 14 in Simdega and 24 in West Singhbhum.
