BJP to collect mud from pan-Jharkhand to construct 100 feet long statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Ranchi

Ranchi (By our Correspondent): The Jharkhand ruled BJP will construct a 100 feet long statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda in the state capital Ranchi mud for which will be brought from all the panchayats of the state and the villages of martyrs. 

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here state president and BJP MP Laxman Giluwa said that the campaign to collect the mud at the panchayat level would be held from January 9-11 while in block headquarters it will be held till January 17 followed by the district headquarters from January 23. The mud which will be collected in pots from all these places will be later sent to the state headquarters of the party. He said that for this task the party has appointed in-charge for all the five divisions with Palamu under Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Kolhan HRD Minister Neera Yadav, Santhal Pargana Welfare Minister Louis Marandi, North Chottanagpur Tourism Minister Amar Kumar Bauri and South Chottanagpur will be looked after by Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda. These people would be assisted by the local MPs, MLAs, district president of the ST morcha etc.

He said that the mud would be collected from ‘Sarna Sthal’ and ‘Jaher Than’ and all local religious heads will be taken into confidence
before collecting the mud which would be done with full traditional rituals. Party’s ST Morcha’s state president and MLA Ramkumar Pahan accused the JMM and the Congress of doing politics in the name of the tribals and said that it was the first occasion when the
government has decided to build the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He said that the proposed site the statue of other martyrs of the state would also be put and a museum will also be set.
