Ranchi (By our Correspondent): The Ranchi district administration has made elaborate security arrangements for Durga Puja in the
city with more than 1000 jawans being deployed to provide security at 153 Puja Pandals of the city along with 300 magistrates who have been also deployed on duty.
Senior Police officials have asked the jawans not to allow huge crowd gatherings at any of the pandals and make sure that no rude behavior or ill-treatment is meted out to the people. They have been asked to keep suspicious persons and all anti-social elements and check prompt action in case of any wrongdoing. The police department has also set up four sub-control rooms at Albert Ekka Chowk, Doranda, Sadar and Ratu Police Stations in which policemen and judicial magistrates will be posted in three shifts along with a medical team.
During the puja, the liquor shops will also remain closed and strict action will be taken against shop owners if they are found open. In wake of Durga Puja the entire district has been divided into 10 zones for which police officials have been appointed for each zone who have been instructed to keep an eye on the trouble mongers and anti-social elements.
