Cabinet decisions: Now CO can also issue domicile certificate

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has decided that henceforth the circle officers will be also able to issue the domicile certificate in the state. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet which was chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das at the project building here.

It was decided that that domicile certificate issued by the circle officer would be eligible for all kinds of works as long as the person is alive. Another key decision it was decided to make amendments in the process of selection of beneficiary of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojana. Post the amendment this would be the most sensitive Awas Yojana in the state. It has been decided that such families whose name is not included in the socio-economic and caste census of 2011 they would be also eligible to get homes under this scheme after their names is recommended by the gram sabha and is verified by the DC of the area concerned.

It has been decided that for this year in each district 250 homes would be allocated and if possible the houses would be sanctioned in the name of the female and in case there is no female member in the house then in the name of the daughter or any other person whose name is agreed upon by the head of the family. In an important decision, the state government has also decided to set up Baba Baidyanath Sanskrit University in Deoghar which would be aimed at encouraging the Sanskrit language and would be dedicated for the study of Sanskrit language in the state and this university would be headquartered in Deoghar district.

The government has also decided to give 10 per cent reservation to the economically poor in the technical Institutions of the state which are run by the government it or are private parties or on a PPP model for the educational year 2019-20. The government said that following the directions of AICTE New Delhi it has been decided to give 10 per cent reservation to the economically poor in the technical institutes of the state during the year 2019-20. The government has also decided to constitute 6 additional post for the Jharkhand state food Commission.
