Jharkhand SIR Deadline Extended Again, Final Voter List to Be Published on November 30

Ranchi: The deadline for completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Jharkhand has been extended again, with the Election Commission of India now scheduling the final publication of the revised voter list for November 30, 2026. The timeline was earlier extended from October 7 to October 19 before being revised further to November 30 to facilitate disposal of pending cases and digitisation of claims and objections.

The revised schedule was issued after district election officers sought additional time to complete various SIR-related processes. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has directed all district election officers to complete the pending work within the fresh deadlines prescribed by the Election Commission.

Under the revised schedule, first and second notices related to no-mapping and logical discrepancies will be disposed of by October 22. Verification of voters who fail to submit required documents even after the second notice, along with BLO home visits, will be completed by October 31. Other non-notice cases will also be disposed of by the same date.

Digitisation of claims and objections related to Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 will also be completed by October 31. From November 1 to 12, home-to-roll verification and digitisation of Form 6 applications of eligible citizens who were left out will be undertaken.

Super-checking of disposed notices at the levels of District Election Officers, Roll Observers and the Chief Electoral Officer will continue from November 1 to 21. Updates to notional house numbers, sketch maps, key maps, Google Maps and photographs of polling stations on ECINET will be completed by November 23.

All claims and objections will be disposed of by November 23. From November 24 to 29, data quality checks and preparations for final publication will be undertaken, including seeking the Commission’s approval for printing.

The final electoral roll will be published on November 30. Officials have been directed to ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is excluded and no ineligible or foreign person is included in the voter list.
