Tehran - Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday claimed to have carried out coordinated attacks on US military assets in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, including an American air base, fuel supply facilities and communications infrastructure, according to Iranian state media.
The IRGC said its Aerospace Force launched missile and drone strikes on the US military base at Al-Azraq in Jordan. According to the Iranian news agency Sepah, the attack targeted fighter jet shelters and a large aircraft parking area, allegedly destroying at least two fighter jets and three other US aircraft while inflicting significant damage on additional military assets.
In a separate statement, the IRGC claimed that its Navy struck the US fleet's fuel supply dock at Bandar Al-Ahmadi in Kuwait on Friday night. It also said missile and drone attacks targeted the warplane assembly area at Sheikh Isa in Bahrain and destroyed an intelligence data centre identified as Batelco.
The IRGC further claimed that its naval forces destroyed a US signals and communications centre in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces had concluded the seventh consecutive night of military operations against Iran.
In a post on X, CENTCOM said US forces ended their latest round of strikes at 9:30 p.m. ET on July 17, targeting surveillance facilities, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage sites and maritime capabilities. The operation involved fighter aircraft, drones, warships and other military assets.
According to Iranian state media, the latest US strikes killed three people and injured eight others.
Regional media reports said Jordan's air defence systems intercepted Iranian missiles, Bahrain successfully thwarted several aerial attacks, and Kuwait reported that an Iranian strike triggered a fire at a power generation and water desalination plant.
The claims made by the IRGC and reports of damage have not been independently verified.
