Iran Warns of ‘Devastating’ Retaliation if US, Israel Strike Key Infrastructure

Tehran: A senior Iranian military commander has issued a strong warning, saying any attack by the United States or Israel on Iran’s infrastructure would trigger “devastating and continuous” retaliation across the region.

Ali Abdollahi, chief of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said Iranian forces would target all US military assets in West Asia and Israeli infrastructure if provoked. He stressed that Iran would act without hesitation to defend its national interests.

His remarks come as a deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz approaches expiration. Trump has repeatedly warned of severe consequences, stating that time is running out for Tehran to comply.

Abdollahi sharply criticised the US leadership, calling the threats “desperate” and “reckless,” while reaffirming Iran’s readiness to respond forcefully to any aggression.

Meanwhile, tensions have further escalated on the ground. The naval wing of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it carried out a drone strike on an ???????-linked commercial vessel docked in Bahrain, setting it ablaze.

Despite the standoff, Iran has reportedly allowed ships carrying humanitarian and essential goods to pass through the Strait of Hormuz to its ports, indicating limited flexibility amid the crisis.

The latest developments follow weeks of escalating conflict after joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran began in late February. In response, Iran and its regional allies have launched attacks on American and Israeli interests across the Middle East.

With both sides exchanging threats and military actions intensifying, the situation continues to move toward a broader and more dangerous regional confrontation.
