Srinagar— The **Jammu and Kashmir Police** have approached **Interpol** seeking a **Red Corner Notice** against a **Kulgam-born doctor**, identified as **Dr. Muzaffar**, for his alleged involvement in the **interstate white-collar terror module** recently busted in **Faridabad, Haryana**.
Dr. Muzaffar is the brother of **Dr. Adil Rather**, who was earlier arrested following the recovery of an **AK-47 rifle** from his locker at the **Government Medical College, Anantnag**. According to officials, Dr. Muzaffar had resigned from the same institution in **October 2024**.
Investigations revealed Dr. Muzaffar’s alleged role in the terror network during the **interrogation of the arrested suspects**. Police sources said he was part of a group of doctors that **visited Türkiye in 2021**, along with **Muzammil Ganaie** and **Umar Nabi** — the latter being the driver of the **explosives-laden car** that **detonated near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday**, killing **12 people** and injuring dozens.
Efforts to trace Dr. Muzaffar found that he had **left India for Dubai in August** and is **currently believed to be in Afghanistan**. Police confirmed that Dr. Muzaffar, Dr. Muzammil Ganaie, and Dr. Mohd Umar stayed in Türkiye for **21 days** during their visit.
Meanwhile, Türkiye’s **Directorate of Communications Centre for Countering Disinformation** issued a formal statement on Wednesday, rejecting reports that its territory was being used for radicalisation activities.
> “The media reports claiming that Türkiye is linked to terrorist acts in India and provides logistical, diplomatic, and financial support to terrorist groups are part of a malicious disinformation campaign aimed at damaging bilateral relations,” the statement said.
>
> It further clarified that the claim that Türkiye engages in “radicalisation activities” targeting India or any other country is “purely disinformative and lacks any factual basis.”
The terror network was **uncovered in a joint operation** by the **J&K Police** and **Haryana Police** in Faridabad. The module, described as a **“white-collar terror cell,”** was allegedly planning to carry out **terror attacks in Delhi**.
One of its members, **Dr. Mohd Umar**, managed to evade arrest but was later **killed in the Red Fort explosion** while transporting explosives in a vehicle.
