Ranchi: A major reshuffle in the Jharkhand Police is on the horizon, with 16 IPS officers from the state cadre expected to receive promotions within the next two months. The promotions will span ranks from Superintendent of Police (Selection Grade) to Additional Director General (ADG).
According to official sources, the Police Headquarters has finalized the promotion proposal and forwarded it to the State Government through the Home Secretary. The official notification is likely to be issued soon after approval.
Among the senior officers, 2001-batch IPS officer Manoj Kaushik, currently serving as Ranchi Zonal IG and also holding additional charge of CID IG, is set to be promoted to the ADG rank.
Three 2008-batch officers — Anish Gupta (on central deputation with the CBI), M. Tamilvanan (posted at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad), and Ajay Linda (DIG, Home Guards & Fire Services) — are likely to be elevated to the Inspector General (IG) rank.
At the DIG level, 2010-batch officer Kusum Punia will be promoted along with five 2012-batch officers — Kishore Kaushal, Akhilesh V. Varier, Anjani Kumar Jha, Mohammad Arshi, and Anand Prakash — who are also slated for promotion to DIG.
At the SP level, six officers from the 2013 batch — Hurdip P. Janardan, Nidhi Dwivedi, Anshuman Kumar, Prashant Anand, Harilal Chauhan, and one more officer — will be promoted to Selection Grade SP.
Following these promotions, sources indicated that a series of transfers and new postings are expected across key police positions in the state as part of the impending reshuffle.
