Jharkhand experiences extreme heat, day temperature touches 42 degrees at several places

Ranchi: Several parts of Jharkhand were experiencing extreme heat with day temperatures touching as high as 42 degrees Weathermen said there is no hope of immediate respite as rain or thundershowers activity is expected only after the next 48 – hours.

No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand. The trough (wind discontinuity) was running from north Chhattisgarh to Kerala across interior Maharashtra, Telangana, and interior Karnataka at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level. Dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 -hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 41.7 degrees was recorded at Jamshedpur and Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 20 degrees was recorded at Simdega.

Several other places including Chaibasa in West Singhbhum, Deoghar, and Garhwa recorded close to 42 degrees during the past 24 – hours. 

Weathermen said there will be no significant change in maximum temperature during the next four days. The forecast indicated a partly cloudy sky and dry weather. Met officials ruled out the possibility of rain.
