Principal Chief Conservator of Forest asks people to plant five trees each

Ranchi: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests cum Forest Force Chief Dr. Sanjay Srivastava said that on the occasion of International Forest Day let us take a pledge to plant five trees in the coming six months and dedicate them to our ancestors so that our feelings are attached to those trees and we can take good care of them.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the All India Spring Art Camp “Prakriti” organized by the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Government of Jharkhand on the occasion of International Day of Forests at Palash Bhawan on Tuesday. 

He said that Jharkhand is a forest-rich state, but there are many challenges before us. Talking from the perspective of Jharkhand he said that climate change is a matter of concern in the state and Jharkhand is also at the bottom of the fertile power of the land and there was a need to work in this direction.
