CM asks to accord focus on allround development & employment oriented budget

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that a better and more inclusive budget an be made keeping in view the all-round development of all sections and communities of the state. Addressing the pre-budget meeting 2023-24 organized by the Finance Department he said that with this thought in mind, under the ‘Hamin Kar Budget’, the state government has done the work of taking suggestions from the general public and experts before the budget. He said that it is the priority of the state government to prepare a public welfare budget according to the suggestions of all of.

The budget for the year 2023-24 should be such that people of all sections including ST, SC, OBC, minorities can get benefits he said adding that the state government is laying special emphasis on creating self-employment in the state and strengthening the rural economy. Continuing further he said that the availability of road, electricity, water is the need of every person.

At present, the condition of roadways, airways and waterways in the state of Jharkhand is satisfactory as lot of developmental work has been done in these areas. He said that 23 out of 24 districts of Jharkhand are connected to one or the other state. In the coming time, there is a need to move forward by making such an action plan that these connectivities can be used for employment generation as well as revenue generation he said adding that the state government wants to give support to the people of Jharkhand so that the people here can join the mainstream of development.

He said that in developed states and big cities, the curiosity of the common people towards the budget is seen but in Jharkhand, the curiosity of the people towards the budget is less. The Chief Minister said that it is necessary that the people living in remote areas of the state should try to know the budget and the benefits of the schemes run by the state government should reach the last person standing in the way of development. He said that a few days earlier he went to such an area where after 40 years the people there saw the people of the city.

There are many other similar areas in the state where development plans have hardly been reached he said adding that the government thinks that keeping in mind the geographical structure of the state, the budget should be prepared in such a way that its benefits can be extended to every family. The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is a completely different state as compared to other states of the country. The budget model of other states cannot be copy pasted in our state he said in his message to the officials.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government is working on policy formulation and pointed out that many better policies have been made in the state, which include many policies including sports policy, tourism policy. He said youths are also getting jobs under the sports policy as Jharkhand has always been ahead in the field of sports and the players here have brought laurels to the state in the country and the world. Presently 5 to 6 girls from Jharkhand are representing the country in the Indian women’s hockey team.

The state government is doing the work of building a sports stadium at the panchayat level he said adding that in the coming time, work will be done to strengthen the field of education as well. Continuing further he said that emphasis is being laid on strengthening the education system in schools and colleges. The process of appointment of professors and teachers will be started soon so that students studying in schools and colleges can get a quality education. He said that the state government is moving ahead in the field of employment generation under the tourism policy.

Earlier tourism in the state was neglected due to LWE activities but now the situation is not the same as now the state government is moving forward on the tourism sector. According to the suggestions given by the dignitaries in the budget conference, the state government will work on the construction of hostels in all the districts, women’s hostels and development of cities on PPP mode, etc he said adding that work will be done to ensure that not only girls but also boys get training of nurses in the nursing colleges of the state so that employment can be generated in large numbers in the coming times. He Separate hostels will be built for working women in cities. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to work on increasing the number of colleges in the state
