Jharkhand gets its first women University

Jamshedpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone via online for the Jharkhand’s first women University from Jammu and Kashmir. On this historic occasion, Chief Minister Raghubar Das was present at the indoor stadium in Jamshedpur. Speaking on the occasion he said that after 70 years of Independence for the first time Foundation has been laid for a Women’s University in the state and the day was a historic one for the half of the population of the state. He said that the university would be constructed on an area of 18 acres of land next to the Surya Mandir in Sidhgoda for which the state government would give Rs 56
crore while the contribution of the central government would be Rs 33 crore.

Mr Das said that the girls of the state and the country word making a name for themselves in all the areas and the state government was trying to bring out the hidden talent through education and sports. He asked the girl students to study with dedication so that they can achieve higher goals in life. He said that in the era of globalisation if India has to move forward then it should have a pool of knowledge as only that country and that state would move forward which has surplus knowledge and keeping that in mind the state government has accorded special focus on the education of the woman at the Central and at the state level.

Mr Das said that on the occasion of the National Girls day on January 24 Sukanya Yojana has been started in the state which is aimed at reducing the dropout rates and decreasing the maternal mortality rate.
