Solving problems, giving rights to everyone is priority for government says Chief Minister

Ranchi: A delegation of Jharkhand State Anganwadi Sevika-Sahayika Sangh met Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the Project Building here and expressed their gratitude towards him for the assurance of making rules by the state government according to the demands of the Anganwadi workers.

In the course of the meeting, the Chief Minister told the delegation of that his government is working to give the rights to all sections, communities and government employees. He said that in the past the state government has worked to solve the problems by showing sensitivity on many demands including the demand of para teachers, the demand for compensatory leave of policemen, old pension scheme etc.

The Chief Minister said that there should be a smile on the face of every people of the state, with this thinking his government is moving forward continuously. He said that now the children will be able to go abroad for higher education and added that the government has done the work to expand the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Overseas Scholarship Scheme.

He said the government has allowed an increase in the number of scholarships given to the students studying in the state. The Chief Minister said that governments keep coming and going but he believes that people should always get their rights. He said that manual is being prepared according to the demands of the women with the aim of bringing a smile on the faces of all Anganwadi workers, the state government is making a further action plan. 

The Chief Minister said that till date there was no manual for Anganwadi workers and helpers in the state. According to the demands of all under the new rules now Anganwadi workers will get an honorarium of Rs 9500 and Anganwadi helpers will get an honorarium of Rs 4750 per month.

Under the new rules, the monthly honorarium of Anganwadi workers will be shared by the Central Government at Rs 2700 and Rs 6800 by the State Government respectively. Similarly, provision is being made to the Anganwadi helpers to share Rs1350 from the Central Government and Rs 3400 from the State Government respectively.

The Chief Minister said that now sevikas and sahaikas working in small Anganwadi centers of the state would also be given honorarium of Rs 9500 and Rs 4750 per month respectively. In which small Anganwadi workers can be paid an honorarium of Rs 9500 per month with the share of payment of Rs 2100 and Rs 7400 from the Central Government respectively.

He said that under the new rules, the state government would deposit six percent of the honorarium separately while opening the provident fund account of all Anganwadi workers. He said that now provision is being made to provide compassionate benefits to Anganwadi workers also.

Anganwadi worker Mala Devi became emotional in front of the Chief Minister during the meeting. She expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister while weeping. She told the Chief Minister that they had eaten a lot of sticks earlier for this demand of theirs and sincerely thanked him for taking initiative on their demands. Ministers Joba Manjhi, Satyanand Bhokta, Aalamgir Alam, Jaggarnath Mahto and other were present on the occasion.
