SC to hear SLP moved by Jharkhand Government on May 24

Ranchi: The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the SLP on May 24 moved by the state government over the issue of mining lease and investment made in shell companies by close associates of the Chief Minister.

The petition had been moved before the bench of Chief Justice NV Ramanna and Justice Hima Kohli. Appearing on behalf of the state government senior lawyers Kapil Sibal and Mukul Rohtagi had without issuing due notice to the concerned ED had filed a report in the High Court in sealed envelopes.

Moreover, the copy of the report is also not handed over to the concerned. Opposing the same senior lawyer Tushar Mehta cited the example of a case involving former Union Minister P Chidambaram.
