Ranchi: In a major success for the capital police five criminals have been nabbed with a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions from Chutia Police Station area.
Briefing the press Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha said that a tip-off had been received regarding the presence of the criminals who were planning to execute a big crime after which a team led by DSP Headquarters-One was constituted which conducted raids and arrested them with arms, ammunition and cash from a house located near the pump house in Chutia area.
The arrested have been identified as Abhijit Kumar Singh alias Senti Singh (Dhanbad), Ajay Singh, Jagat Kumar alias Lucky alias Golu, Shivnarayan Mahto and Sameer Kumar Bagchi alias Kalu Bangali (all hailing from separate police station areas of Ranchi district.
From the arrested 6 pistols of 7.65 mm, 2 revolvers, 2 desi kattas, 37 cartridges of 7.65mm, 6 other cartridges of different guns, Rs 84,000 in cash, a four-wheeler and a two wheeler has been recovered.
