IPL 2026: RCB’s Batting Blitz Powers 43-Run Win Over CSK

Bengaluru— Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a dominant all-round performance to outclass Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs in a high-scoring IPL 2026 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

A sensational batting display from Tim David, Rajat Patidar, and Devdutt Padikkal powered RCB to a massive 250/3 — the highest total of the season so far. Padikkal laid the foundation with a fluent 50 off 29 balls, his second consecutive half-century, before David and Patidar took complete control in the death overs.

David remained unbeaten on a blistering 70 off just 25 balls, while Patidar smashed an unbeaten 48 off only 19 deliveries. The duo stitched together a stunning 99-run partnership in just 35 balls, tearing apart the CSK bowling attack with fearless strokeplay. David’s late assault, including four sixes in an over off Jamie Overton, lit up the stadium and even drew applause from the RCB dugout.

Chasing a daunting target, CSK struggled under pressure right from the start. Early wickets dented their chase, and despite a quickfire 50 from Sarfaraz Khan and a fighting 43 from Prashant Veer, they never looked in control.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar led RCB’s bowling effort brilliantly, picking up 3/41 and also reaching the milestone of 200 IPL wickets. He received good support from the rest of the bowling unit as CSK were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs.

The emphatic win also marked RCB’s fourth consecutive victory over CSK — a first in IPL history — underlining their dominance in this rivalry.

**Brief Scores:**
Royal Challengers Bengaluru 250/3 (Tim David 70*, Devdutt Padikkal 50)
