Brighton Stun Liverpool, Everton Thrash Chelsea in Premier League

London — Brighton & Hove Albion dealt a major blow to Liverpool’s top-four hopes with a 2-1 victory, powered by a brace from Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck struck early in the 14th minute and later netted the winner after halftime, taking his season tally to 12 league goals. Milos Kerkez had briefly equalised for Liverpool following a defensive lapse by Lewis Dunk, but Brighton ultimately held firm. The defeat marked Liverpool’s 10th loss in 31 matches this season.

Meanwhile, Everton compounded the struggles of Chelsea with a commanding 3-0 win at home, boosting their push for European qualification.

Striker Norberto Beto led the charge with two goals, while Iliman Ndiaye added a third to seal an emphatic victory. Beto opened the scoring after latching onto a precise pass from James Garner and calmly finishing over Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea created chances but were repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who delivered a standout performance and recorded his 100th clean sheet for the club. Midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye also played a key role, setting up Everton’s second goal after a strong interception and run.

Beto later turned provider, assisting Ndiaye for a superb curling finish that capped off a dominant display. The result lifted Everton further up the table while extending Chelsea’s poor run, following recent heavy defeats.

Elsewhere, Leeds United and Brentford played out a goalless draw, while Fulham came from behind to beat Burnley 3-1. Goals from Josh King and Harry Wilson turned the game around before a late penalty by Raul Jimenez sealed the win.
