Indian Youth Boxers Continue Strong Run as Priyansh, Ambekar and Sahil Win on Day 4 of Futures Cup

Bangkok — India’s youth boxing team delivered another impressive showing at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok, with Priyansh Sehrawat, L. Ambekar and Sahil Duhan registering convincing victories on the fourth day of the tournament.

Priyansh Sehrawat (70kg) set the tone for the Indian side in the morning session. He dominated his Latvian opponent throughout the bout and secured a clean 5-0 unanimous decision victory, progressing further in the competition.

The evening session brought more good news for India. L. Ambekar (50kg) produced a confident performance to defeat his Tajikistan rival by 5-0 unanimous decision, while Sahil Duhan (60kg) continued his impressive run by beating another Tajikistan boxer with an equally emphatic 5-0 verdict.

However, Aman Siwach (65kg) faced disappointment after his bout against a Ukrainian opponent was stopped in the second round, with the referee calling it off under Referee Stopped Contest (RSC).

The World Boxing Futures Cup, being held in Bangkok from March 8 to 15, features some of the most promising young boxers from around the world competing in Youth Olympic weight categories and gaining crucial international exposure.

India had also enjoyed a productive third day at the tournament. Chandrika Pujari (50kg) claimed a dominant 5-0 victory over her Venezuelan opponent, while Joyshree Devi (54kg) sealed an RSC win in the third round against Kazakhstan.

In the men’s category, Ambekar earlier advanced with another 5-0 win over Ecuador, continuing India’s strong momentum. Later in the evening, Gunjan (48kg) edged past Italy in a closely fought 3-2 decision, and Prachi (60kg) finished her bout early with a first-round RSC victory over Ecuador.

With several boxers advancing and building momentum, the Indian contingent will aim to maintain its winning rhythm as the tournament moves into the next stages.
